KUWAIT, Feb 23 (KUNA) -- Radio Kuwait won the first place on Arab level in programming, productions, and airtime categories during a media event in Algeria on Saturday.
The state-radio station broke a record at the annual joint meeting of Arab radio and TV coordinators, engineers, and operators in the number of produced shows; 20 in total, as well as in duration of on and off-air programs, said a senior Kuwaiti official.
Radio Kuwait aspires to win further advanced ranks in broadcasting on Gulf, Arab, and international levels, Information Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Radio Affairs Sheikh Fahad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah told the press.
Such an achievement reflects the state-station's pioneering status, Al-Sabah said, expressing his joy of Radio Kuwait's excellent accomplishment across all Arab radio broadcast levels.
Winning the first place in various categories is a result of the fruitful backup of the Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri and the Ministry's Acting Undersecretary Mohammad Al-Awash, he noted.
Al-Sabah expressed his appreciation and pride of the significant efforts exerted by Radio Kuwait's staff in continuing to lead the station to win regional and international awards.
He dedicated the station's achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti people in celebration of the country's national and liberation days.
