KUWAIT, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait TV has set a varied schedule next week to keep pace with the widespread February 25-26 National and Liberation Day celebrations, a Ministry of Information official said on Wednesday.
The schedule includes full live audiovisual coverage of the festivities, Saud Al-Khaldi, the assistant undersecretary tasked with the affair said in a press statement.
It also contains new documentaries about the history of the country and patriotic theatrical performances.
Patriotic songs written by locally-renowned lyricists will be performed by several veteran singers during the event as well.
The plans have been placed in response to the instructions of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, added the official.
Events marking this national occasion will be held amid "outstanding atmospheres," the official said.
The coverage will witness cooperation between the ministry and other state bodies, with some of the events jointly broadcasted by television stations in the Arab region. (end)
