Trump to make "great announcements" on IS soon

WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump on Friday said there would be "great announcements" to be made in the coming 24 hours on Syria and the uprooting of the so-called Islamic State (IS) "caliphate." "We have a lot of great announcements having to do with Syria and our success with the eradication of the caliphate and that will be announced over the next 24 hours," Trump told reporters at the White House' Rose Garden. In remarks to the Meeting of the Ministers of the Global Coalition to Defeat (IS) last week, Trump said, "It should be formally announced sometime, probably next week, that we will have 100 percent of the caliphate, but I want to wait for the official word.
