TUNIS, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait-based Direct Aid Society on Tuesday delivered food aid worth USD 327,000 to some 10,000 impoverished families across northwestern Tunisia.
The Kuwaiti initiative reflects the amicable relationship between both countries, the Gulf state's ambassador to the North African nation told KUNA.
He highlighted such endeavors as crucial to usher in development in Tunisia, promising the Kuwaiti charity will continue to carry out such projects.
"We have grown accustomed to Kuwait's humanitarian endeavors," said the governor of Tunisia's Ariana governorate Mukhtar Nefzi, pointing out that Kuwaiti charities have been Tunisia's biggest benefactors.
The Kuwaiti charity recently sent teams to assess the scope of aid needed in Tunisia's northwestern areas, according to the director of the charity's Tunisia office Saad Al-Mdalal. (end) ksj.nam
