Tunisian, Jordanian leaders discuss number of Arab issues

TUNIS, Feb 3 (KUNA) -- Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi discussed with visiting Jordan's King Abdullah II on Sunday ways to boost bilateral cooperation and a number of Arab issues.
This came after the arrival of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania to Tunisia on an official visit at the invitation of the Tunisian President on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two sides held an extended working session in the presence of the delegations of the two countries on the prospects of cooperation between Tunisia and Jordan and means of increasing their support in all fields, especially in the priority areas where countries have real opportunities for economic integration.
The two sides called for the need to activate what was agreed upon during the Joint High Committee at its last session held in Tunis in 2017 as well as the recommendations of the Political Consultation Committee and the sectoral committees covering the most important sectors of cooperation.
They stressed the importance of the private sector's involvement in enhancing trade exchange and raising the investment pattern in addition to working to overcome the difficulties that hinder the development of cooperation between the two countries.
On the other hand, the two sides discussed the preparations for the hosting of the 30th ordinary session of the Arab Summit in Tunis in late March, and exchanged views on a number of issues to be addressed by the Summit and the major challenges facing the Arab region. (end) ksg.aa
