KUWAIT, Jan 30 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's National Guard (KNG) will take charge of securing at the central oil installations instead of the Ministry of Interior, Kuwait's National Guard announced on Wednesday.
The commander of protection and reinforcement in the National Guard, Brigadier Hamad Ahmed, said in a press statement that National Guard's task in securing oil wells aims to achieve integration with the Ministry of Interior in securing vital facilities.
Brigadier Ahmed said that this mission came under guidance of the Supreme Guard leadership represented by Chief of the National Guard His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Deputy Head of the National Guard Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah, and the follow up by Undersecretary of Kuwait National Guard Lieutenant General Eng. Hashim Al-Refai.
For his part, Commander of the Guard Protection Brigade Colonel Muhsen Hammad said in a similar statement that securing oil facilities is in line with strategic objectives document (2020), themed Security First.(end)
