PARIS, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- Several armed men attacked a central Paris bank on the famous Champs Elysee avenue Tuesday, making off with the contents of dozens of safety-deposit boxes after incapacitating staff, local media reported.
The attack on the "Milleis bank" for wealthy clients took place at opening time and the robbers escaped without being detected in one of the most secure locations of the French capital, where police and military are in high presence, "France Info" TV said.
There are no estimates on the amount or details of what was stolen but the robbery was particularly daring given the location of the bank on the Franklin Roosevelt-Champs Elysee junction.
It is the third armed attack against a bank or luxury goods store in the area in the past year. (end)
