US condemns terrorist attack against Kenyan hotel

WASHINGTON, Jan 17 (KUNA) -- The US condemned, in the strongest terms, the terrorist attack at the DusitD2 Hotel Complex in Nairobi Kenya, the State Department said late Wednesday day.
"In particular, our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Jason Spindler, an American who died during the attack," said a statement.
Media reports indicate that Spindler was a survivor of the September 11, 2001 attack at the World Trade Center in New York.
"These craven attacks are a stark reminder of why the United States remains resolved in our fight to defeat terrorism," the State Department added. "We stand with the Kenyan government and people as they confront violent extremism and work to bring the perpetrators to justice." (end) ak.gta
