KUWAIT, Jan 11 (KUNA) -- 1964 -- Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the 11th ruler of Kuwait, issues a new law on parliamentary investigation and administrative reform.
1970 -- Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issues a new law regulating postal services.
1981 -- A bill was introduces on elimination of illiteracy.
1991 -- The Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah affirms during a meeting with US Secretary of State James Baker in Taif, Saudi Arabia, that there would be no alternative to using force against Iraqi forces occupying Kuwait if the Iraqi president refuses to implement relevant UN resolutions.
2003 -- The Civil Service Commission declares establishing a common e-mail service for all civil servants.
2004 -- The Cabinet approves establishment of a media archive center to preserve the country's history.
2007 -- Kuwait's permanent representative to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Dr. Lamia Al-Saqqaf takes over presidency of the organization's 77th round in Rome.
2008 -- US President George W. Bush arrives in Kuwait on an official two-day visit, during which he held talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and visited American troops stationed at Camp Arifjan.
2010 -- The Kuwaiti wins ninth Arab shooting tournament held in Kuwait with the participation of 16 Arab countries. The Kuwaitis gathered 36 medals -- 18 gold, 12 silver, and six bronze.
2015 -- Mubarak Hospitals launches automated electronic pharmacy, the first of its kind in Kuwait. (end) gta
