RABAT, Jan 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's top youth authority adopts techniques such as listening, dialogue and engagement for understanding youngsters' issues and preparing them to be committed to Kuwaiti and Arab causes, a senior official says.
Kuwait Youth Public Authority's strategy aims at preparing a new generation, capable of interaction with modern-time changes, said Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, Director-General of the authority, in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
"Our strategy in the realm of habilitating the youth is based on measures and programs aimed at elevating their potentials and realizing their aspirations so that they can effectively take part in development and prosperity of the society," said Al-Mutairi, speaking on sidelines of the fourth meeting of "the joint youth commission tasked with youngsters' affairs," which groups officials from the GCC countries and Morocco.
It is quite imperative to involve the young citizens in planning and executing development schemes, he says, noting that the authority is keen on executing its programs by involving the youth and listening to them.
The authority has launched the Kuwaiti Youth Council to help the young nationals in all of the country governorates to have representation and express aspirations, he says.
He noted necessity of cooperation with relevant organizations and associations and lauded the current cooperation between the GCC countries and Morocco at this level, praising in particular the Morocco-proposed "youth activation diploma," a program designed to train the young generation on special technical and social skills.
Al-Mutairi headed the Kuwaiti delegation at the GCC-Moroccan meeting. It included a media official at the authority, Farah Mirza, the official in charge of administrative afairs, Abdulaziz Al-Khaldi and the general supervisor of the youth news network, Hanan Dashti.
The conferees have already discussed means of enhancing the youth capacities and a media forum, due in Kuwait in September 2019, as well as recommendations that have been referred to the ministers of youth and sports. (end) mry.rk
