Erdogan deems security, peace of Arabs in Syria as Turkey's business

ANKARA, Dec 24 (KUNA) -- Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday considered the security and peace of Arabs living in Syria as his country's own business.
Addressing a ceremony at the presidency in Ankara, Erdogan said that his nation's forces are in Syria "to give the freedom of our Arab and Kurdish brothers," and not to the terrorist factions.
He added that the situation in Syria "is a matter of freedom and its territorial integrity," while is also regarding the security and peace of the Turkmens.
"The Syrian Kurds will not be left at the mercy of the PKK/PYD as Turkey will not be leaving the Arabs in the hands of Daesh," Erdogan said.
US President Donald Trump announced Wednesday the official withdrawal of his nation's troops from Syria after Daesh was defeated.
The political leadership in Turkey has numerously declared their military operation which will be taking place in the east of the Euphrates River, which aims to rid the Syrian lands and Turkish borders of the PKK and Daesh. (end) rs.th.aq
