Yemeni gov't declares ceasefire in three Red Sea ports

JEDDAH, Dec 17 (KUNA) -- Yemen's Defence Minister Lt Gen Mohammed Al Maqdishi has declared a ceasefire commencing midnight around the country's northern Red Sea port city of Hodeidah and the ports of Saleef and Ras Isa.
The orders were delivered to all military forces in the three locations amid the directions of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, according to a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency.
The move follows an agreement struck between the Yemeni government and Houthis amid ongoing peace talks in Sweden.
An international committee will ensure the observance of the truce. (end) nsa.sd
