Israeli forces arrest 39 Palestinians in West Bank

RAMALLAH, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- Israeli forces launched a fresh wave of arrests in West Bank early Friday, catching 39 Palestinians, including two Hamas members, Palestinian sources said.
Israeli forces arrested Hamas MP Yasser Mansour from his house in Nablus, MP Ismail Al-Tal from the town of Al-Dhahiriya in Hebron, and Hamas leader Mostafa Al-Shenar.
A number of detainees were freed Palestinian prisoners, the sources added.
Meanwhile, eyewitnesses told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the Israeli forces set up military checkpoints in the vicinity of the cities of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, closed roads with cement blocks and prevented Palestinian citizens from moving.
The Israeli forces also carried out crackdowns on Palestinian houses between Ramallah and Jalazone refugee camp, the eyewitnesses added.
They further opened fire at an ambulance near a checkpoint at Beitin Village near Ramallah, without causing any injuries, Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said.
Clashes broke out on Thursday between Israeli forces and Palestinians, killing a Palestinian old man and injuring a number of youths. (end) nq.maa.lr
