Kuwait's par'l mandates Audit Bureau to study possibility of seeking military personnel's help for MPs

KUWAIT, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's National Assembly on Wednesday approved a parliamentary request to mandate the Audit Bureau to study a request for deputizing military personnel to work with members of the National Assembly and submit the report to the parliament within three months.
This came during the parliament's supplementary session as it moved to consider the request for discussion by some members on the reasons and grounds for assigning a group of military personnel to serve members of the National Assembly and their compatibility with the provisions of the laws to clarify the Government's policy and exchange views thereon.
The debate witnessed a divergence in the views of the MPs on selection of the military personnel to work with the members of the National Assembly.
A number of MPs supported the assignment of the military to serve as secretaries of the MPs and saw that there is nothing wrong with that in order to benefit from their expertise in matters related to their field, wondering "what is the difference between mandating military personnel or the rest of the employees of the Ministries of State." Other MPs categorically rejected the continued deputation of military personnel to work for MPs, pointing out that the military and security forces are better off taking advantage of their services.(pick up previous).
