KUWAIT, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's National Assembly on Wednesday approved, in two readings, eight bills relating to agreements, two protocols, a statute, final documents between the government of Kuwait with a number of governments of friendly countries, an international organization and a world conference.
The results of the vote on the reports of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee in the first and second debates on the bills came with the approval of 37 members and one objection of the total attendance of 38 members.
The reports of the parliamentary foreign affairs committee, which was voted upon by the council, included a draft law approving establishment of the Gulf Accreditation Center.
The reports also included a bill approving an agreement between the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) and the Government of Kuwait on the recognition of INTERPOL's travel document as well as a bill approving the Protocol to Eliminate Illicit Trade in Tobacco Products.
The Council also approved a draft law approving the Final Acts of the World Radiocommunication Conference, Geneva, 2015 (WRC-15).
The parliament also approved a draft law approving the protocol of cooperation between the Government of Kuwait and the Government of the Republic of Turkey in the field of education and training for members of the National Guard in Kuwait and the General Command of the Gendarmerie forces of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Turkey.
In addition, the parliament approved a bill approving an agreement between the Government of Kuwait and the Government of the United States of America on mutual assistance between the customs administrations of the two States.
The parliament also approved a draft law approving the accession of Kuwait to the Statute of the Institute of Islamic States of Standardization and Metrology.
It also approved a draft law approving the agreement on trade cooperation between Kuwait and the Government of Turkmenistan. (End)
