New Bahraini government takes oath

MANAMA, Dec. 5 (KUNA) -- The new Bahraini government, led by Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, took the constitutional oath before King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Wednesday evening at the Sakhir Palace.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, King Hamad bin Isa delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the new government members and congratulated them on the formation of the new government, the Bahraini news agency (BNA) reported.
The King thanked the previous government members for their sincere and honorable efforts exerted in the interest of Bahrain.
He wished the new government success in taking on responsibilities in the service of the homeland and citizens.
He said the new government would assume its responsibilities ahead of the start of the fifth legislative term, during which more achievements are expected to meet the future national goals of Bahrain and the royal ambitions of providing citizens with respectable services and achieving financial balance to promote the national economy.
For his part, Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa stressed resolve to push on with modernization and development process to translate the royal directives. He reiterated commitment to intensify development efforts. (end) amq.ibi
