Iraqi jets bomb "Daesh" in Syria

BAGHDAD, Nov 20 (KUNA) -- Iraqi jet fighters carried out on Tuesday strikes on strongholds of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in neighboring Syria.
The military said in a statement that F-16 jets raided an arms depot belonging to "Daesh," its Arabic name, in Al-Sousa, located in the border region of Al-Boukamal.
"The depot contained 10 terrorists and caches of missiles and explosives," the official statement said.
Simultaneously, other warplanes bombed a stronghold in Al-Baghouz, in Deir Ezzor, the statement said, adding that 30 terrorists were at the position when the jets struck it.
Iraqi military aircraft often hit IS positions on Syrian territories, in coordination with the Syrian leadership.
"Daesh" had been dealt a major blow when it was wiped out at the key stronghold, the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, months ago.
Currently, the group, notorious for utter cruelty and violence, is said to maintain pockets, scattered throughout the Iraq-Syrian border regions. (end) ah.rk
