French protesters close three fuel stores

PARIS, Nov 19 (KUNA) -- French protesters on Monday closed three fuel depots and stopped traffic on the roads protesting increasing fuel taxes.
Local media reported that protesters erected dozens of roadblocks, hampering truck access to fuel depots.
Total oil and energy company spokesperson said that the company operates two of the three stores, one in Verne in the northwest and the other in the southern Vue sur Mer, while Total shares ownership of the third in La Rochelle, but does not manage it.
French authorities announced on Saturday the death of a woman when she was hit by a car during a popular protest movement called the "yellow vests." (end) mgz.aa
