KUWAIT, Nov 18 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Information Minister Mohammad Al-Jabri said on Sunday that relations with Greece have made much progress in various fields over the years.
A deal between Kuwait and Greece over issues of mutual concern has been in place since 1978, Information Minister Mohammad Al-Jabri said amid a meeting with the mayor of the Greek island of Kos Giorgos Kyritsis.
Al-Jabri, who also serves as minister of state for youth affairs, went on to say that Kuwait's political leaders are eager to deepen ties with Greece, revealing that Kyritsis has invited him to visit the southeast European nation.
The Greek official said that Athens and Kuwait share many common interests, hailing Kos as an alluring destination among tourists all over the world, citing famed Greek physician Hippocrates as a native of the picturesque island.
On the purpose of his visit to Kuwait, he said it aims to ratchet up economic cooperation with the Gulf state, in addition to improving trade ties. (end) fz.nam
