KUNA chief partakes in meeting of leading journalists in London

LONDON, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Chairman and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah participated on Friday in a meeting of the News Agencies World Council (NACO).
Participants in the meeting, held at offices of the British Press Association news agency in London center, discussed preparations for the council sixth congress, due in Bulgarian capital, Sofia, in middle of June.
They agreed on agenda of the four-session event, including a host of topics namely new income resources, fake news, smart industries and diversification. Moreover, they also named chairpersons of the planned sessions.
Furthermore, they appointed sessions' supervisors, namely Secretary General of Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) Dr. Farid Ayar, Press Association Chairperson Clive Marshall, and Mikhail Gusman, NACO Deputy President and First Vice-President of the Russian news agency, TASS.
The conferees endorsed recommendations, issued at the previous meeting, hosted by Saint Petersburgh, Russia, in May.
For his part, Maxim Minchev, Director General of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), briefed his colleagues about preparations for the planned sixth conference.
NACO, established in 2004, groups a large number of news agencies. (end) kd.rk
