GCC chief lauds Saudi Public Prosecutor's statement on Khashoggi murder

RIYADH, Nov 15 (KUNA) -- Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani hailed the statement issued Thursday by Saudi Public Prosecutor on the murder of the Saudi Journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul.
In his statement, the GCC chief said that the prosecutor's statement re-affirms the Kingdom commitment towards completing investigation procedures in this crime and foiling attempts made by some parties to politicize it, Al-Zayani said.
He stated that the bold measures taken by the relevant Saudi bodies -- under directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud -- once the crime took place show that the Kingdom eager on embracing transparency and accountability in revealing all circumstances of the crime and allowing the fair judiciary to enforce the law and achieve justice.
Al-Zayani added the prosecutor's statement had revealed precise details about the Public Prosecution's investigations into this crime to let the public opinion be updated about it. (end) mdm.ibi
