LONDON, Nov 15 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Board and Director General of Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah on Thursday stressed the important role played by the Agency's offices abroad in serving Kuwait's supreme interests.
This came in a press statement by Sheikh Mubarak to KUNA during his visit to the agency's bureau in London as part of his current visit to the British capital to participate in the international council of news agencies.
Sheikh Mubarak said the KUNA bureaus are a major complement to the work of Kuwait's embassies, especially as they converge on one goal, which is serving Kuwait.
He stressed the importance of communication among the bureau and the embassy in London and all Kuwaiti offices, as well as keenness to follow up the news that are of interest to the Agency's activities in order to strengthen its regional and international status while adhering to the standards of credibility, neutrality and transparency that KUNA is keen on.
Sheikh Mubarak and his accompanying delegation were briefed by the bureau's Director Khaled Al-Daihani on the work progress and the necessary needs to make the agency's office a success.
He called for taking advantage of the latest technological means when dealing with news items in order to achieve flexibility and speed in the distribution of news to the headquarters in Kuwait to enrich the bulletin and other services.
On the other hand, Kuwait's Ambassador to the UK Khaled Al-Duwaisan held a luncheon in honor of Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij. (end) kd.tg
