1952 -- The National Culture Club was established for promotion of Arab nationalism via Al-Eman magazine, first published in January 1953.
1952 -- National Bank of Kuwait launches services for the public.
1961 -- Kuwait Television starts transmission for four hours daily.
1990 -- Kuwait submits a proposal to the UN Security Council urging the Secretary General to protect documents regarding the citizens that were being smuggled out of Kuwait by the resistance on floppy discs.
1997 -- Early Intervention Center for Handicapped Children was inaugurated in Surra.
2001 -- Kuwaiti Ambassador to the UK Khaled Al-Duwaisan was awarded the title of honorary citizen, becoming the first Arab to attain such honor.
2009 -- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was grilled by MP Faisal Al-Mislem on expenditure of the Prime Minister's Diwan.
2013 -- Renowned figurative artist Ayaoub Hussein passes away at the age of 83 after a life rich of artistic achievements. (end) hb
