Kuwait Army warns against handling strange objects
KUWAIT, Nov 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Army General Staff on Wednesday renewed its call for both citizens and residents to be cautious and vigilant as well as not to touch strange objects, which may appear following the heavy rains.
Such strange objects may be dangerous unexploded ordnance, the Staff said in a press statement, urging all people to inform the competent bodies about such objects.
Meanwhile, Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Khodher made an inspection visit on Wednesday to the operation center of the force of duty on rains to be briefed on its plan amid unstable weather conditions.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is paying much attention, and following up, to all efforts of this force aiming to provide support, and cooperate with, to the Ministry of Interior, the Kuwait National Guard and the Kuwait Fire Service Directorate, Al-Khoder was quoted by a statement by the Staff as saying.
Kuwait is currently witnessing heavy rains amid unstable weather conditions, and all concerned government bodies and institutions across the country are taking precautionary measures to deal with emergencies resulted from the downpours. (end) am.msa.hm
