Trump approves California Disaster Declaration due to wildfires

WASHINGTON, Nov 13 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump declared Monday that "a major disaster" exists in the State of California and ordered Federal aid to supplement recovery efforts in the areas affected by wildfires beginning on November 8 and continuing.
The White House said in a statement that Trump's action "makes Federal funding available to affected individuals in the counties of Butte, Los Angeles, and Ventura." Furthermore, Trump said in a tweet that he "just approved an expedited request for a Major Disaster Declaration for the State of California." "Wanted to respond quickly in order to alleviate some of the incredible suffering going on. I am with you all the way," he added.
Trump said in a separate tweet earlier that "there is no reason for these massive, deadly and costly forest fires in California except that forest management is so poor. Billions of dollars are given each year, with so many lives lost, all because of gross mismanagement of the forests. Remedy now, or no more Fed payments!" Up to 42 people are dead and at least 200 others are missing in California's "Camp Fire" that is considered the "deadliest wildfire ever" in California's history as over 6,700 structures have been destroyed so far and about 300,000 people have fled their homes.
