Private Universities, PAAET cancel Sat. tests, KFA suspends matches

KUWAIT, Nov 9 (KUNA) -- Private Universities Council and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) Friday announced cancellation of tests due tomorrow Saturday because of bad weather condition in Kuwait.
Dr. Habib Abul, Secretary General of the Private Universities Council, attributed the cancellation to keenness on safety of students.
He said the tests would be rescheduled.
PAAET spokesperson Dr. Fatma Al-Azmi also announced cancellation of Saturday's tests, and that a new date would be set later.
Meanwhile, Kuwait Football Association (KFA) announced suspension of all games due to heavy rainfall.
KFA Secretary General Mohammad Khalil said all games would be suspended until further notice.
His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said earlier the government was following up closely the situation across the country amid the unstable weather conditions and heavy rain.
There are direct instructions to all ministries to take necessary measures to maintain safety of citizens and their properties, His Highness the Prime Minister said.
Officials failing to fulfill their duties, will be held accountable, he vowed, triggering resignation of Hossam Al-Roumi, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs.
