Tunisia's ruling party not to back new gov't

TUNIS, Nov 7 (KUNA) -- 'Nidaa Tounnes' (the Call of Tunisia) party said Wednesday they would deny confidence to the government of the Prime Minister-designate Youssef El-Chahed after the recent cabinet reshuffle.
The secularist party has a majority of 86 of the 217 seats of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People.
Head of its parliamentary bloc of the party Sofyan Tobal affirmed that the new cabinet members, announced by El-Chahed on Monday, would not win confidence of the party.
He made the press remarks after the party's MPs and leaders met at the parliament.
Tobal added that the party will table to the secretariat of the parliament tomorrow Thursday the justifications of their decision, including the constitutional, political and moral breaches shrouding the new cabinet reshuffle.
The reshuffle puts in jeopardy the future of Tunisia's democratic transition as it fails to reflect the results of the parliamentary elections of October 2014, he added. (end) ksj.mmj.gb
