Over dozen Muslim Brotherhood members given 15-year jail terms

CAIRO, Oct 22 (KUNA) -- An Egyptian court handed 15 year jail sentences to 16 members of the Muslim Brotherhood group, accused of inciting violence, possessing weapons and creating a sense of fear amongst the public.
Egyptian authorities arrested the individuals in the northern Sharqiyah province back in 2014 as they were said to have been distributing leaflets promoting sentiment in opposition to the government, military and police, according to state-owned MENA news agency reports.
They were also accused of having delayed traffic and firing shots and fireworks that resulted in panic amongst the community, added MENA. (end) aff.sd
