Mid-table Levante wins over Real Madrid in Spanish La Liga

KUWAIT, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- Levante UD defeated on Saturday the European Champions Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu 2-1 in the Spanish La Liga.
The underdogs eered the match hoping to snatch at least a single point from Real Madrid, who are facing the longest scoring drought in Real's history.
World Champion Raphael Varane made a small mistake and Jose Morales punished the Frenchman and scored the first goal in the sixth minute of the game.
Seven minutes later the French defender gave a penalty with a handball, and Roger Marti successfully scored it.
After a long struggle, the Brazilian left back scored Madrid's only goal in the game and ended the longest scoring drought in Real's history.
Real have not won in five games and stay outside top four and remain at 5th place with 14 points, while Levante takes 7th with 13 points. (end) kns.bb
