WASHINGTON, Oct 16 (KUNA) -- Chief of General Staff of Kuwaiti Army Lt.-Gen. Mohammad Al-Khodhr joined his counterparts from more than 80 countries in the the Third Counter-Violent Extremist Organizations Conference at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, the United States, on Tuesday.
The gathering aims to ensure that there is no room for complacency in the international fight against violent extremist organizations, according to a statement from Kuwait's military office in Washington.
The defense chiefs exchanged views on ways to combine forces against terrorism through a strategic perspective and reviewed the ongoing operations.
They identified ways to coordinate the efforts of the military and law-enforcement authorities with a view to reaching the maximum level of integration in the combat against violent extremist organizations, the statement noted.
On the sidelines of the conference, Lt.-Gen. Al-Khodhr met separately with US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Corps Gen. Joe Dunford and UK Chief of the Defence Staff Gen. Sir Nicholas Carter to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues.
During the meetings, Lt.-Gen. Al-Khodhr reaffirmed Kuwait's commitment to contributing to the international efforts to ensure security and stability worldwide under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the statement added.
