Oman announces release of detained French citizen in Yemen

MUSCAT, Oct 16 (KUNA) -- The Sultanate of Oman declared on Tuesday that a French man detained by Yemen in Sanaa was released.
Responding to directives of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to fulfil a request of the French government to help them in releasing the French citizen, Alain Goma, detained in Yemen, Oman's competent authorities coordinated with their Yemeni counterparts in Sanaa about Goma, according to a statement issued by Omani Foreign Ministry.
Goma was released and transferred to the Sultanate this evening in preparation for his return to his country, the statement said.
French President Emmanuel Macaron thanked Sultan Qaboos and the Omani authorities for efforts in the release of Goma, who was detained for over four and a half months in Yemen. (end) me.hm
