EU united to find solution in Libya - Mogherini

BRUSSELS, Oct 15 (KUNA) -- European Union foreign ministers reaffirmed commitment to work even more to help Libyans find a solution to the conflict in the country, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini said.
During their informal meeting in Luxembourg on Monday afternoon, the ministers discussed Libya, the external aspects of migration, the Central African Republic, Venezuela and the case of a missing Saudi journalist.
"The message that comes out of the meeting on Libya is a message of unity and of determination to work even more to support a Libyan-found solution to the situation in the country under UN auspices," Mogherini said at a post-event press conference.
She noted that the discussion focused on the political process, the stability of the country, and the economic situation in Libya.
"Our presence in Libya has been intensified in these weeks in complicated circumstances, but this is something that is going to continue and we put this support at the disposal of the United Nations - and of the Libyans, obviously," she said.
The ministers discussed the external aspects of migration together with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.
They were also briefed by the Director-General of the International Organisation for Migration Antonio Vitorino via a video link.
They also discussed the case of the missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, Mogherini said, adding that the EU expects full and transparent investigation by the Saudi authorities in full cooperation with the Turkish authorities. (pickup previous) nk.gb
