KUWAIT, Sept 23 (KUNA) -- 1976 -- The Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah issued a traffic decree stipulating motorists must apply for licenses and abide by traffic laws.
1990 -- Iraqi occupiers of Kuwait withdrew all Kuwaiti banknotes from circulation and replaced the national currency with the Iraqi dinar at an equal rate with the Kuwaiti dinar.
1998 -- The State of Kuwait honored theatrical artist, Abdulaziz Al-Nimesh, one of those who have enriched the national culture.
2002 -- Kuwait chaired the IAEA's Board of Governors for the 2002-2003 term, on behalf of the Middle East and South Asia.
2005 -- Kuwait's Mohammad Al-Ghareeb won the 15th Arab tennis tournament in Jordan.
2016 -- Kuwait Sports Club won the ninth football super cup after out besting Qadsiya by 5-4 in a penalty shootout. (end) gta
