TUNIS, Sept 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwait and Tunisia, at conclusion of the sixth Trade Technical Committee meeting Wednesday, affirmed their mutual interest in developing economic and trade relations.
The two sides called for the appointment of liaison officers of the trade ministries in both countries to follow up the implementation of the recommendations and coordination between the various parties participating in the meeting.
They also agreed to further enhance the trade exchange by encouraging mutual participation in specialized trade and international exhibitions, in compliance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two parties.
The committee reached a final draft of the new executive program during the years 2019-20 in the field of industrial export development between the Tunisian Export Promotion Centre and Kuwait, as well as a draft agreement on cooperation in the field of maritime transport and ports.
The two sides also discussed insurance, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and traditional industries, as well as civil aviation, and technical and scientific meteorological cooperation.
In addition both sides expressed their keenness to hold regular meetings of the Trade Technical Committee to enhance bilateral relations.
On the sidelines of the meetings Khaled Al-Fadhel, Kuwait Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry who headed the Kuwaiti delegation, and Tunisian Undersecretary of Ministry of Trade Hesham bin Ahmad held a meeting to discuss strengthening of economic and commercial partnership and cooperation.
