Iraqi PM rejects party interference in gov't duties

BAGHDAD, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi on Tuesday rejected any interference by any party in the government' authorities, stressing that party's work should stay remain supervisory role in the parliament.
It is necessary to preserve the independence of the government decision and party should focus on its own roles, Al-Abadi said in a press statement.
Al-Abadi pointed out that the party can contribute to the provision of government programs and then assess its performance from within the parliament, but it should not be within the corridors of government.
The race of formation the next Iraqi government is witnessing mounting calls to assign a government of technocrats away from partisan quotas, which is considered by observers to be difficult to reach amid the insistence of many parties to enter strongly in the next formation. (end) ahh.aa
