Iraq's parliament Speaker receives ambassador Al-Zamanan, hails Kuwait role

BAGHDAD, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Al-Halbusi met on Tuesday with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iraq Salem Al-Zamanan to commend Kuwait's supportive role to his country.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Zamanan congratulated Al-Halbusi on being elected as the Iraqi speaker of parliament, while also assuring that Kuwait will always be on the same page with Iraq in continually supporting them.
Al-Zamanan added, Al-Halbusi's noted his country's and peoples appreciation towards all the support from the Arab nations, especially Kuwait in assisting their neighbors in the Basra province with electricity and water.
Al-Halbusi previously was the former governor of Al-Anbar province and a member of the parliamentary building and recently elected by Iraqi lawmakers as speaker of the parliament with 169 votes from the 298 who participated in the elections. (end) ahh.aq
