Syrian National Coalition welcome Russian-Turkish Idlib agreement

ISTANBUL, Sept 18 (KUNA) -- Syrian National Coalition leader Abdul Rahman Mustafa welcomed Tuesday the Russian-Turkish agreement on Idlib, stressing that the agreement has avoided the region a humanitarian disaster.
The Coalition was aware of the seriousness of the threats launched by the Syrian regime and Iran, so was the focus in all discussions with the Turkish side on the safety of civilians and their survival, Mustafa added in a press statement.
Mustafa pointed to the pivotal role played by Ankara in saving the lives of millions and staying in their regions, calling on all institutions of the revolution and its factions to abide by the agreement.
Mustafa stressed that the agreement rearranges the situation in Syria and provides a political solution and he considered that the next stage requires the consolidation of efforts in all areas.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed Monday in Sochi, Russia, to establish a demilitarized zone around Idlib. (end) ta.aa
