Bahrain hails Jeddah peace deal between Eritrea, Ethiopia

MANAMA, Sept 16 (KUNA) -- Bahrain praised on Sunday the patronage of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud on Jeddah Peace Pact, which was signed by the President of the Republic of Eritrea, Isaias Afwerki, and the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed.
Bahrain's foreign ministry said in a statement, "the pact aims at establishing positive relations and building joint cooperation between the two countries.
It also aims at enhancing peace and security in the two countries and the region in general." The statement noted "Bahraini Kingdom affirms that this step reflects the vital and strategic role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at both the regional and international levels. It also highlights the efforts and initiatives of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strengthen peace and security in the world." "Bahrain stresses its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its efforts that aim to promote peace and build strong international relations based on good neighborliness and respect of international laws and charters, the statement added.
