Bahrain condemns terrorist attack on Egyptian forces in Sinai

MANAMA, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- Bahrain has condemned the terrorist attack on a security checkpoint that killed and injured policemen in Arish city in North Sinai, Egypt.
In a statement released Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain's full support for Egypt in the face of terrorism.
The ministry also called for further efforts and cooperation in facing terrorism and extremism and block all funding sources for terrorist groups.
It also expressed its deepest condolences for the victims' families and wished the injured to get well soon.
The attack that occurred Saturday morning left four policemen dead and nine others injured. The Egyptian forces confronted the terrorists, killing four while the rest had fled the area.
According to Egyptian security sources, the armed men used explosive belts and RPG in the attack. (end) hmd.ag
