KUWAIT, Aug 17 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait continuously seeks to develop its relations with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) at all levels, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Belgium Jassem Al-Budaiwi said on Friday.
Speaking to KUNA following a meeting with Director of Defence Planning, Defence Policy and Planning Division at NATO headquarters Paul Savereux, Al- Budaiwi, who doubles as chief of the Kuwaiti mission at the NATO, said they discussed ways of promoting Kuwaiti-NATO cooperation in several domains, mainly NATO capability and efficiency development programs.
He added that the NATO had adopted in 1995 the Planning and Review Process aiming at helping NATO partner countries boost their military efficiency according to NATO-proposed programs and plans.
The Kuwaiti side is interested in such activities, he said, citing field visits by a Kuwaiti military delegation to the NATO headquarters in Brussels for the purpose, he said.
The Kuwaiti diplomat also pointed out the hosting of a NATO regional center as the first premises in a non-NATO member country. (end) mk.mt
