Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan meets the visiting Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani
ANAKAR, Aug 15 (KUNA) -- Qatar would invest USD 15 billion of direct investment in Turkey, the Turkish presidency has announced.
"Qatar will rapidly implement an investment package of USD 15 billion in Turkey," reads a statement following the meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the visiting Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in Ankara Wednesday.
The statement added that the two leaders reiterated during the meeting their determination to further strengthen the relations between Turkey and Qatar in every field.
Turkey has been rocked in recent days by a sharp decline in the value of its currency lira. (end)
