Egyptian President Abdulfatah Al-Sisi launches USD multi-billion electricity projects that would honor the North African country's growing demands
CAIRO, July 24 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdulfatah Al-Sisi launched Tuesday USD multi-billion electricity projects that would honor the North African country's growing demands.
Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohammad Shaker said the president launched six billion euros (USD seven billion) three power stations that would produce 14,400 megawatts.
The stations are built in cooperation with Germany's Siemens.
Shaker was quoted by the official MENA news agency as saying there would be other projects that would be operational as of 2022.
Shaker said the first nuclear station would be operational by 2026. (end)
