BAGHDAD, July 20 (KUNA) -- Two persons were killed and 45 others injured in protests in different Iraqi provinces on Friday, the Ministry of Health said.
Ministry spokesman Saif Bader said in a statement one person was killed in Diwaniya and the other in Najaf.
He said most of the wounded were police forces.
Thousands of people took to the streets in different provinces today to demand better services and jobs.
These protests have been ongoing for about two weeks now, triggering the government to pledge to improve the living conditions but failed to quell the tension. (end)
