Turkish court remands Adnan Oktar, 116 others for crimes

ISTANBUL, July 19 (KUNA) -- The Turkish court on Thursday remanded 116 suspects, including Adnan Oktar, by the Istanbul prosecutor's office for his criminal organization.
The prosecutors had released nine of the detainees after being interrogated and transferred 116 suspects, including Adnan Octar to the court; the investigations are still ongoing with the rest of the suspects, according to Anadolu Agency (AA).
In July 11, Turkish security forces in an operation arrested Oktar and 235 of his followers on various charges, it added.
His group has been accused of crimes including establishing a criminal organization, child sexual abuse, sexual intercourse with a minor, kidnapping, violating tax law and violating the anti-terrorism law, the agency noted. (end) ta.naa.hs
