BAGHDAD, July 14 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi Ministerial Council for National Security announced Saturday that it has taken preventive measures against saboteurs who were behind the damage incurred to private and public properties in the country.
This came after an emergency meeting the Council held, headed by the Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi to discuss the security situation in the country as a result of the demonstrations in a number of Iraq cities.
A press release issued by the Council indicated that the security and intelligence bodies monitored a number of organized small groups planning to benefit from large rallies of peaceful demonstrations in order to sabotage public properties and attack the state's institutions.
The local forces will take all the needed deterrent procedures against those saboteurs, considering any insult to the security forces as an insult to the country and its sovereignty.
It called on the citizens to cooperate with the local forces in order to detect the presence of any attacker in order to protect and preserve the state's security and stability.
A number of invaders stormed Al-Najaf International Airport yesterday damaging its windows, while others damaged an oil well protection site in Basra and burnt the guards' caravans. (end) ahh.lb
