Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia consider bidding for 2030 World Cup - Min.

ALGIERS, July 1 (KUNA) -- Algeria is considering bidding for the 2030 World Cup with Tunisia and Morocco, the Algerian Sport and Youth Minister Mohammad Hattab said Sunday.
"Recent news about possibility that Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco submit a joint bid for the 2030 World Cup finals are correct," Hattab said in a press statement.
He said this joint bid would be discussed with the Tunisians and Moroccans within a joint committee to be specifically for that purpose.
Coordination among the three countries, added Hattab, would boost the chances to host the World Cup.
The US, Mexico and Canada were recently awarded the 2026 World Cup bid, beating the Moroccan file. Hattab said the Algerian-Moroccan-Tunisian bid could be successful like the US-Mexico-Canada file. (end) mr.bs
