Maryland judge orders newsroom shooter to be held without bail

WASHINGTON, June 29 (KUNA) -- A Maryland judge ordered on Friday the suspect, Jared Ramos, 38, to be held without bail after he killed five people in an Annapolis newsroom yesterday.
Ramos would not cooperate with authorities and was identified with the assistance with facial recognition technology.
"I can confirm for you at this time that we identified the suspect with help through other investigative techniques by using facial recognition technology, from the Maryland image repository system," Police Chief Altomare said during a press conference.
The weapon he used was a pump-action shotgun that was "legally purchased a year or so ago," said the chief.
He added, "I'll say this, the fellow was there to kill as many people as he could kill." Ramos allegedly barricaded a back entrance to the office so employees were not able to escape.
"I will not say his name today. I refuse to do it. I wish you wouldn't do it.
But I know better. He doesn't deserve us to talk about him one more second," Altomare stressed. (Pickup previous) ak.mb
