Kuwait cultural body invites Tunisian pres. to int'l peace event

TUNIS, June 29 (KUNA) -- Chairman of the Kuwait-based Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation Abdulaziz Al-Babtain on Friday handed a letter to Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi, inviting him to attend an international peace forum due in the Netherlands next year.
The Tunisian leader received the invitation while meeting with Al-Babtain, hoping that the initiative would contribute to establishing the culture of peace in the region, according to a Tunisian presidential statement.
He spoke highly of the noble initiatives adopted by the Kuwaiti cultural foundation to buttress the Tunisian cultural sector, it said.
In this context, Essebsi appreciated the foundation's great and sincere efforts aiming at promoting Kuwaiti-Tunisian cultural cooperation and encouraging Arab cultural creativity, according to the statement.
On his part, Al-Babtain reiterated his cultural institution's commitment to backing and serving Arab culture, added the statement. (end) ksj.mt
