NCCAL holds International Music Festival on June 23rd

KUWAIT, June 20 (KUNA) - The National Council of Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) will hold the 21st International Music Festival sponsored by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri, during the period between 23rd until 28th of June.
The festival honors the memory of late artist Marzouq Al-Marzouq. A musical night will be held on Saturday, led by maestro Rashid Al-Nuwaisher, with a number of young artists performing some of Al-Marzouq's tunes. Meanwhile, Chinese band Guanchi will take the stage a day later, in addition to performances by Turkish and Bahraini musicians.
Folk Art will also be a part of the festival as Al-Zayed Folklore band performs on Tuesday at Kuwait National Museum.
NCAAL holds the musical gala annually coinciding with the "International Day of Music" to highlight Kuwaiti heritage in the minds of the new generation, while showcasing Arabic and foreign creativity. The first International Music Festival was held in 1998. (end) shd.bb
