Mexico, Germany's managers press statements

KUWAIT, June 17 (KUNA) -- The managers of Mexico and Germany presented both the strengths and weaknesses of their teams and moved forward to the next matches.
Loew Joachim Germany's manager presented his view on his teams lose today saying, "losing the first match is a situation we are not used to at all, but this is a case we have to accept as such of course." Joachim added, "In the first half we played very badly, and we were not able to impose our usual way of playing attacking and passing and being effective in the spaces. There were lots of counter attacks making the players run long distances back. Now we don't concentrate on the round 16 we focus on the next game." Mexico's manager Juan Carlos Osorio reiterated his strategies saying, "we always thought of having two quick players on the wing. We chose Hirving Lozano who is our fastest player. In the first-half, we managed to play defensively with a great deal of intelligence and hit them on the counter. In the first half of the match, we were the superior team. In the second we knew full well that Germany has an outstanding team." "We prepared for the use of Mario Gomez up front. Yesterday we practiced defending with four midfielders and three players up front, and that was how we almost go the second goal today. Mexico showed that we have a bright future," Osorio pointed out.
Osorio added, "I always told players that I was the one who carried the burden of pressure and they just needed to enjoy the game and play football just like they did today, and no matter what the result is I will accept it. If they win, it's their credit and when they lose it's my fault, that the way it is." Mexico beat Germany 1-0 in the first World Cup match of Group F, securing Mexico their first three points and a much more promising future as the teams move forward to face Sweden and Korea in their next matches.
